Our Baby Boy Turned ONE

Despite my efforts to stop it, Hudson turned one yesterday!  I know all Mom's say this, but WOW, where did the year go?  We have been incredibly busy lately, which just makes it go so much faster, so I'm asking for advice on how to slow things down.  It's honestly getting way out of hand!

Anyway, Hudson's party was yesterday evening and we all had a blast!  He's been sick the past couple of days, so I was worried he wouldn't enjoy it.  But, he proved me wrong and was in a great mood!  It helped that he had lots of friends and family there to entertain him!  Here are some pictures and videos from his fun day.

What a fun party!  I'm hoping that's not my last "First" Birthday to plan...

 

John and Mary, my John's sister, welcomed their baby girl, Maddie yesterday!  She was 8 pounds 13 ounces and 20.5 inches long.  (Mary, correct me if that's wrong.)  Maddie is just gorgeous and perfect and Mommy and Daddy are doing great!  We just can't wait to get to Tennessee to give her a big squeeze!

CONGRATULATIONS, Mary and John!  We love you!

 

My FIRST Grader

Well, it's that time again!  Where did the summer go?  It seems to get shorter every year.  We did have a great one, though!

Kenedy was so excited to start first grade!  I saw this shirt on a friend's blog and we HAD to have it!  Thanks for sharing, Alexandra!

John had to take Kenedy to her first day of Kindergarten, because I couldn't hold it together!  I know, that's terrible!  So I decided I was going to be tough and take her this year.  Her excitement helped, but I had a lump in my throat like never before.  I walked her in, got her situated, took some pictures and then quickly kissed her goodbye and headed for the door, tears were about to break.  I knew if she seemed even a little sad, that I would lose it completely, so I was relieved that it was over.  Then I hear, "Mommy, Mommy... wait!"  I stopped and was so scared to turn around... But I did.  She ran up to me and said, "Me and Lily have the same Twinkle Toes!"  Thank goodness!  Success!  That is, until I got in the car and cried my eyes out!

If you didn't notice, this year was the first without a bow.  Yes, a hair bow!  I'm obsessed with them!  Love 'em... all of them!  And Kenedy refuses to wear a bow now.  She says she's too old.  Ugh, that breaks my heart.  Poor Hadyn tried to pull that one, too, but I'm not letting her give them up just yet!  She starts Pre-School on the 17th, another chance for my "no self-control" to embarass me.  (And she WILL be sporting a new bow for her First Day Pics.)

Did You Miss Us?

Once again, I let myself get behind... WAY behind!  So much has happened in the last month, good and bad!  I guess like my last post, I'll just try to make this as short and sweet as possible.  Okay, here we go...

Playdates... FUN!

We decided since we live so close to the marina and we all love the water, that we'd buy a boat.  We took it out everyday after that for almost two weeks!  It's a blast and the girls are becoming little water bugs.  Hudson loves it, too!  We were planning to go camping for our last little summer getaway, but instead we ended up at Lake LBJ for four days.  It was so much fun!  We're hoping to do it again before it gets cold.  I could post lake pics all day and not cover everything, so I'll just show you a handful.

Shortly after our trip, my dad checked into the hospital for a triple coronary bypass surgery.  We were terrified, but he did amazingly well.  He was in the hospital for a week and is now resting at home.  I think he's struggling more with sitting around doing nothing than he is with the actual surgery recovery.  It won't be long, though and he'll be better than ever!  We love you, Dad!

Next up... School Supplies Shopping!  Love it!  I was spending so much time at the hospital that Kenedy was worried about not getting to go, so John brought her to S.A. and we met at Target for our Beloved Shopping Day.  It was alot of fun!  And once again, she took forever making her decisions.  It's so fun to watch!

We helped John celebrate his 33rd Birthday!  (Sorry, John... had to do it!)

And we have a new baby cousin, Addi!  Isn't she adorable?!  Congrats, Samantha!
