A Waites Thanksgiving

We celebrated our Thanksgiving a week early.  Dad has been out of town making the rounds at horse shows and was back for a couple of days.  So, we had our Thanksgiving dinner tonight.  I should start by saying that Thanksgiving was probably Mimi's favorite holiday.  Mimi was my grandmother that passed away last year with cancer.  She was absolutely the BEST cook in the whole world and loved cooking for us!  She always, ALWAYS handled the cooking for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.  Last year, John and I were in South Dakota for Thanksgiving, and the Waites' didn't really get together.  So, this was our first Thanksgiving together without her.  As tempting as it was to celebrate at a restaurant, we knew she'd be frowning down on us for not having the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.  So, I hosted at our house and cooked the turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes and dessert for the kiddos.  Mom, Lisa and Kristi cooked everything else and it was absolutely perfect!  Everything was delicious, of course not quite as good as Mimi's, but it was made with a lot of love and in a way all for her.  The hardest part of the whole day was smelling the turkey through the house and not hearing her in the kitchen.  We miss her dearly.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year!  And I'll bet Mimi is super proud of us!

The Great Outdoors

We absolutely love this time of year!  The leaves are gorgeous and the weather is perfect!  We took advantage of it on a little golf cart ride around the ranch.  Kenedy packed a picnic in her backpack and the three of them enjoyed their snacks on the bridge.  Sydnee and Bella tried their hardest to get a spot on the blanket, but Kenedy said "Not a chance!"

Hudson asked if we could pack a more neutral colored blanket next time!

I had to add this shot of Hadyn falling off the bridge!  I caught it mid-fall!  (She scraped her knees, but she said it wasn't bad enough to end the picnic!)

Kenedy and Bella are always about 30 yards ahead of the golf cart!

To redeem my faith in digital cameras, I took a close-up of this flower and it came out so clear and crisp.  I'm happy with my camera now!

Just Need to Vent...

I'm so mad right now.  I'm on my third digital camera in the past two weeks.  The first one was a Fuji "lemon," only admitted by Best Buy after sending it off through the Geek Squad THREE times to get repaired.  I replaced it with the new Olympus Waterproof digital camera, which took extremely unfocused shots and made a terrible clicking noise during videos.  By this point, I've missed way too many Kodak moments, so I'm already steaming.  I return the camera to Best Buy once again and after about 45 minutes with the Customer Service Rep. they agreed to let me get a replacement.  I chose the Canon PowerShot which is a great camera and takes good pictures and video.  However, the first time I went to upload the pictures, I lost 190 of them!  190!!!  Don't ask me how I did that, but John assured me that it was ME and not the camera.

So, this is my new post.  No cute pictures of Hudson smiling during his bath, on his first boat ride, in his cute dress clothes at his first funeral, or of my cute girlies just being silly.  Just me... extremely aggravated!

Doesn't sweet little Kenedy look so peacful, sound asleep during our "Weakly (Weekly) Movie Night?"  Can't you just imagine the sweet little dreams she's having while resting in the peace and quiet of their playroom?
