34

Hope everyone had a fun-filled Halloween!  We sure did!  Kenedy had to dress up as a book character for school today and chose "Fancy Nancy."  If you have a young daughter or granddaughter, you know who I'm talking about.  If not, here's a picture of the book cover:

And here's Kenedy as her this morning:

(She even tried to match the pose!)  She was so worried that I wouldn't get the hair right, and it took me about 30 minutes.  She directed me the entire time, and we were both happy with it in the end!  Here's another one of her being silly... imagine that!

Hadyn was a cheerleader.  You might have seen this costume on Kenedy at the football game, but that's what Hadyn wanted to be.  Sure made it easy on Mom!

Hudson was supposed to be a Monster, but I bought his costume a little early, and it didn't fit tonight!  So, we pulled his trusty Redskins jersey out of the closet and he made a good-looking little football player!

Kenedy's school had a "Country Fair," which in my day was called a "Halloween Carnival."  Anyway, it was alot of fun!  The girls played all the games and won lots of prizes.  They even had a Haunted House where Hadyn almost broke the bones in my hand from squeezing so hard, but she was very brave!

Here's Kenedy ringing a 2-Liter Coke!  She was so proud!

Hudson was the Official Candy Holder.

Funny Story:  When we were leaving the carnival, Hadyn wanted to put all of her candy in her Trick-or-Treat bag.  I didn't want to have to find all of it, so I told her that if her bag was full when she went Trick-or-Treating she wouldn't get much candy because the people would think she had enough.  Well after about ten houses, Hadyn hopped out one time and forgot her bag.  I grabbed it for her and it was empty.  I looked around the car and she had been dumping the candy in her seat so that her bag would be empty at each house!  Very smart girl!

I made them pose on this stranger's pretty porch!

Kenedy fell asleep on our way home and Hadyn was bouncing off the walls because she had already eaten half of her candy!  Halloween has come and gone and we're already looking forward to next year!

TWO MONTHS TODAY ! ! !

Wow!  The past two months have flown by!  Our sweet little Hudson is growing by leaps and bounds!  He's had quite a few "firsts" already:  first bath, first smile, first golf cart ride, first marshmallow roast, first hayride, the list goes on...  Sadly one of his firsts was his first sick visit at the Dr.  He was diagnosed with bronchiolitis last week, and had us a little scared.  He was put on breathing treatments every 4 hours and that helped a great deal.  He's still pretty stopped up which aggravates him tremendously, but he'll be over that real soon.  He went to the Dr. today and was 23.75" long and weighed 11 lbs., 14 oz.  That's a 5 lb. gain in six weeks!  He's beginning to smile, but really would prefer not to.  I think he's shy already!  He has colic now and keeps us up until about 12:30 am, but then sleeps really well until it all starts again the next night.  (Small price to pay, though!)  The girls and I can't keep our hands off of him... literally.  He's too much fun!  We're trying to savor every minute knowing he'll be sitting up soon, and then crawling away from us!  Here are few pics of our little booger:

Fun in the Pumpkin Patch

Mom, Dad, and I took the kiddos to the Pumpkin Patch in Marble Falls a few days ago.  We met Lisa, Blaire and Brayson there.  It was a lot of fun!  We painted pumpkins, got lost in the Corn Maze, and went on the longest (and dustiest) hayride ever!

This was their best effort at keeping their eyes open in the sun.

MORE GIRLS ! ! !

Kristi and Brad announced yesterday that they're having two little girls!  We're sooooo excited for them!  (I'm secretly hoping they try again for a boy, though!  The more the merrier, right?!)  I had two gift bags, one blue, one pink.  The blue bag had one set of matching outfits, and the pink had three!  I don't know if I sort of knew, or just had too much trouble finding cute boy clothes!  We broke in their new deck and outdoor kitchen and had a little celebration party!  We grilled fajitas, danced (well the kids did) and just had a great time eating and visiting!  It's too bad we can't do that once a week.  It was a lot of fun!  Congrats, Brad and Kristi!  We absolutely can't wait to hold those baby girls!

Fun with the Cousins

Momo (John's mom), the girls and I met up with Dan, Emilee, Cooper and Carson at Sea World yesterday for some Halloween fun.  We had a blast!  Kenedy and Cooper, Hadyn and Carson, and Hudson and their little boy on the way are all less than one year apart!  They are so lucky to have cousins so close in age that live so close to us!  They get along great and have so much fun together!  Here are some pics from Sea World:

They came over to the ranch today and got to meet Hudson for the first time!  We played all day, fishing, driving their little vehicles, riding the horse walker, and roping the steers!

They even got a lesson on shooting snakes!  Cooper spotted a snake on the ladder of the dock and Uncle John shot it and showed it to them.  Yikes!  They were truly fascinated!
